Consultancy

The HKCAAVQ provides advisory and consultancy services concerning quality assurance and the standards of academic and vocational education & training to government bureaux and other organisations in Hong Kong.  Subject to the prior approval of the Secretary for Education of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) Government, the HKCAAVQ may also conduct accreditation tests or perform any function related to academic or vocational accreditation, education or training outside Hong Kong.

Examples of completed consultancy projects

  • Comparative study of teacher education systems in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, UK, US, Mainland China and Taiwan commissioned by the then Education and Manpower Bureau
  • Pilot study on moderation of Specifications of Competency Standards (SCS) developed by the Industry Training Advisory Committees commissioned by the then Education and Manpower Bureau
  • Consultancy study on the Specification for Competency Standards (SCS)-based training courses operated by the Skills Upgrading Scheme Secretariat commissioned by the Education Bureau
  • Consultancy for Applied Learning Courses commissioned by the Curriculum Development Institute of the Education Bureau
  • Benchmarking study for Yi Jin Diploma under the New Senior Secondary academic structure commissioned by the Education Bureau
  • Comparative study of veterinary qualifications commissioned by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD), the Hong Kong SAR Government

Current projects

  • Development of parameters and manuals for the quality assurance framework of higher education in Macao commissioned by the Tertiary Education Services Office (GAES), the Government of Macao Special Administrative Region
  • Development of generic outcomes standards framework for higher education in Macao commissioned by the Tertiary Education Services Office (GAES), the Government of Macao Special Administrative Region
