A delegation from the Education and Youth Development Bureau, Macau SAR Government, led by Mr Carlos Roberto Xavier, Head of the Department of Tertiary Education, visited HKCAAVQ on 2 August 2023. The visit aimed at enhancing mutual understanding of the roles and work of both Macau’s Education and Youth Development Bureau and HKCAAVQ.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by representatives of HKCAAVQ, including Mr Albert Chow, Executive Director, Dr Joe Hong, Deputy Executive Director (Academic) and Ms Anna Cheung, Head and Senior Registrar (Academic Accreditation and Assessment). During the visit, Mr Chow provided an overview of HKCAAVQ's latest developments to the Macau delegation. On the other hand, Mr Xavier, together with Mr Sam Hio Tong, Head of the Division of Quality Assurance, and Ms Joyce Cheong, Technician of the Department of Tertiary Education of Education and Youth Development Bureau of the Macau SAR Government introduced the newly-merged Education and Youth Development Bureau of the Macau SAR Government, highlighting its role and responsibilities. They also gave an overview on the main work progress achieved by the Bureau in the past few years. During the visit, representatives of the Macau delegation expressed their willingness for future collaboration opportunities with HKCAAVQ. Both parties also shared their perspectives on the development of quality assurance in the higher education sector in Macau, as well as expressing their eagerness for collaboration in enhancing Macau's quality assurance.
