Together with some 3,000 participants from all over the world, HKCAAVQ Council Members and colleagues joined the first ever digital conference in Hong Kong, jointly organised by the Vocational Training Council (VTC) and the Education Bureau, on 15 May 2020.
Themed “Skilling for the Future”, the Conference was commenced with the Opening Keynote by the Secretary for Education, Mr Kevin Yeung. The Keynote Sessions that followed were presented by the professional speakers in the respective field and development:
- Six Seismic Shifts in VPET, by the Director General of the Finnish National Agency for Education, Mr Olli-Pekka Heinonen
- Making Vocational Education Work in A Changing World, by the Vice-Chancellor of Sheffield Hallam University, Professor Sir Chris Husbands
Following the keynote sessions, a strong line-up of some 20 speakers from Europe, America, Asia and Hong Kong were invited to share their visions, foresights and first-hand experiences in the development and delivery of VPET provisions during the Plenary and Thematic Sessions.
The live-streamed event has attracted much online chat and Q&As among the participants from Hong Kong and overseas.
