HKCAAVQ speaks at Seminar hosted by DSEDJ Macao

The Education and Youth Development Bureau of the Macao SAR Government (DSEDJ) hosted a seminar titled “Major Channels of Qualifications Assessments and Verification Techniques” as part of the Macao Higher Education Seminar Series. The event was held at the Base Da Educação do Amor Pela Pátria e Por Macau Para Jovens in Macao on 8 November 2024. Representatives of HKCAAVQ, including Mr Albert Chow, Executive Director, Ms Anne Lau, Head and Senior Registrar, QFQR & IT, and Ms Ava Ki, Deputy Head and Registrar, Qualifications Assessment, were invited to speak at the seminar with the presence of over 80 representatives from the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau and Macao higher education institutions. 

 

Mr Albert Chow opened the event by expressing gratitude for DSEDJ’s invitation and providing an overview of HKCAAVQ's work, highlighting the importance of quality assurance in education. Ms Ava Ki then took the stage to delve into qualifications assessments. She elaborated on the work overview of qualifications assessments, relevant principles and application data, and shared a number of case studies. Following this, Ms Anne Lau then presented on the development, application, and management of the Hong Kong Qualifications Register. The seminar concluded with an interactive Q&A session where participants from local higher education institutions in Macao raised questions about the challenges and opportunities of conducting qualifications assessments, providing a platform for interaction.

 

Looking ahead, HKCAAVQ and DSEDJ will continue to work closely to promote excellence in education and training, contributing to the development of a skilled and competitive workforce in the Greater Bay Area.
