HKU SPACE's Third International Conference on Quality in Self-financed Higher Education, titled “Connecting Local and Global”, took place on 22 February 2025 in a hybrid format. Mr Albert Chow, Executive Director of HKCAAVQ, was invited to speak at the event.
One of the conference's highlights was the roundtable discussion focused on the theme “The Prospects for Self-financed Tertiary Education in the Greater Bay Area”, chaired by Prof William Lee, Director of HKU SPACE. The esteemed panel of the roundtable discussion featured Mr Albert Chow, Ir Dr Alex Chan, Chairman of the Committee on Self-financing Post-secondary Education, and Prof Ronald Chung, Chairman of Federation for Self-financing Tertiary Education and Dean of School of Continuing Education of Hong Kong Baptist University. During the discussion, Mr Chow delivered a presentation on “HKCAAVQ as the Regional Accreditation Authority Supporting the Development of Tertiary Education in the Greater Bay Area”. He highlighted HKCAAVQ’s unique role as a quality assurance agency in the region and elaborated on the strategies and initiatives HKCAAVQ will undertake to position Hong Kong as an international education hub.
